Well ladies and gentlemen it looks like THE MAN FROM TORONTO has found its replacement for Jason Statham. Woody Harrelson will be replacing Statham in the action-comedy set to co-star Kevin Hart after after Jason left the project weeks before it was suppose to break production. Statham was all set to star alongside Kevin in the film from THE HITMAN’S BODY GUARD director, Patrick Hughes. The actor walked away from the film because he wanted the film to be Rated-R and that wasn’t what Sony Pictures was wanting to take of the Thanksgiving Day Holiday at the box office which is more geared towards more family friendly films.
Since the deal with the actor wasn’t signed on the dotted line, he was able to walk with about 4-6 weeks until cameras were ready to roll. It may seem like a bit of scramble to to find a replacement but in Woody Harrleson they have someone that is very familiar with the Sony family after appearing in the upcoming Venom 2 and Zombieland Double Tap. THE MAN FROM TORONTO involves a case of mistaken identity after the world’s deadliest assassin, known as the Man from Toronto, now played by. Harrelson, and a New York City screw-up (Hart) run into each other at an Airbnb. A clash of personalities, a clash with deadly killers and of course comedy, ensues as a result. THE MAN FROM TORONTO is slated for a November 20, 2020 release.
