Sony Once Again Pushes back Uncharted

There will come a day when I’ll be able to report the Uncharted movie is in production, but today isn’t the day and the next day might not be promising either. It seems like this movie isn’t ever going to get made and it might end up being on the chopping block like The Crow reboot.

Sony pictures once again pushed back the project December 2020 to March 5, 2021. This is due in large part to the loss of yet another director, Travis Knight who left over creative differences back in December. Those of you who are counting like I am the Uncharted project went through six directors and has been lost in translation ever since development began. The previous six directors include: David. O Russell, Neil Burger, Seth Gordon, Shawn Levy, and Dan Trachtenberg. It’s like potential directors are playing a hacky sack game out of the project that no one wants to let hit the ground and into production.

UNCHARTED is based on the popular video game series of the same name from developer Naughty Dog. To date five games have been released in the franchise, which follows treasure hunter Nathan Drake who travels the globe uncovering historical mysteries. Although the Indiana Jones-esque character is in his mid to late 30s, the upcoming film will focus on a younger version of Nathan Drake, played by SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING: Tom Holland , Mark Wahlberg who also signed on to play Victor “Sully” Sullivan, Drake’s friend and mentor.
