With the upcoming Jungle Cruise theme park ride movie coming out in July and the success of The Pirates of The Caribbean franchise, it comes at no surprise that Disney wants to continue their theme park ride movies.
Collider is reporting that Scarlett Johansson is continuing her relationship with Disney as she is set to star in and produce Disney’s upcoming Tower of Terror movie based on the iconic theme park ride.
Josh Cooley (Toy Story 4, Inside Out) is currently writing the script for the film, with plot details being kept pretty under wraps at the moment. However, Johansson is set to produce the film via her These Pictures banner, alongside Jonathan Lia who will also join as producer.
Representatives for both Disney and Johansson had no comment when reached out to by Collider, as it seems that all parties involved are wanting to make sure no secrets are spilled. The upcoming film is set to be based on the popular Disney theme park attraction, which takes players up through a tower complete with scary narration before dropping them down in a free-falling elevator.
Will this be a box office success like The Pirates of The Caribbean or will this be an elevator tumbling down several flights of floors putting holes into the Disney executives pockets? Time will only tell. As for me I’m excited at what they can do with this kind of movie especially when it comes to theme park ride movies. The real question is are you excited about this news?
