It’s time to put on your Ghostface mask and ask someone “What’s their favorite scary movie?” Because Neve Campbell’s iconic survivor might just have a part to play in the next installment of the SCREAM franchise.
If you haven’t heard there have been some rumblings of a fifth SCREAM film for some time, but the project took a big step forward in March when Matt Bettinelli and Tyler Gillett, who directed READY OR NOT, stepped in to helm the new movie. Kevin Williamson, in an interview with Jack Hamilton he said that rumors are “It follows a woman returning to her home town to try to find out who has been committing a series of vicious crimes” But, let’s focus our attention to the lovely Neve Campbell who said They’ve come to me and we’re having conversations. It’s a little hard at the moment because of COVID to know when that’ll happen and hopefully we can see eye to eye on all the elements that have to come into place for it to happen.
Neve also added “I originally had been really apprehensive about doing another Scream without Wes because he was such a genius and he is the reason they are what they are,” Campbell said, “but the directors have come to me with such a great appreciation for Wes’s work and they really want to honor it and that meant a lot to me. Hopefully we’ll be able to do it.”
