The relationship between Harley and The Joker isn’t the healthiest relationship on the planet. But Harley has called it quits with MR. J in the upcoming Birds of Prey movie, and it looks like she’s becoming her own woman and people should fear her.
In an interview Margot Robbie said: “She’s trying to own it,” Margot Robbie explained while speaking to Empire recently. “That felt like a real way to deal with a break-up. It’s not clean and easy to be a strong woman. It’s so hard. She’s a bit more Courtney Love than Debbie Harry this time. She says, ‘I’m single, I don’t need him, fuck that guy.’ But if the Joker were to text her, ‘You up?’ she’d run. She’d fall to pieces.” Robbie also recently expressed her excitement to Total Film about showcasing a new side of Harley Quinn with BIRDS OF PREY.
BIRDS OF PREY (AND THE FANTABULOUS EMANCIPATION OF ONE HARLEY QUINN) stars Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya, Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain, and Ewan McGregor as Black Mask. The film will find Harley Quinn, Huntress, and Black Canary teaming up to protect Cassandra Cain when she comes across a diamond belonging to Black Mask, a kingpin in Gotham City’s criminal underworld.
