Lucifer: Netflix & Warner Bros. TV in Negotiations for Season 6 Renewal

Last year, it was announced that Lucifer would be going back to hell for a fifth and final season. But because of that news the fans of the show started a petition for another season, and soon after that their hopes and efforts were further crushed when co-showrunner Ildy Modrovich revealed that the fan petition wouldn’t be able to save the show from its final fate.

But sometimes in the entertainment gods might find a light at the end of that dark tunnel Lucifer might be resurrected back to life, it looks like that there might be some hope left for the series. After less than year since its fifth season renewal. As it turns out the streaming service is not quite yet ready to let go of Tom Ellis’ charming Lucifer Morningstar with TVLine bringing word that Netflix is currently in talks with Warner Bros. TV to extend Lucifer for a sixth season.

Based very loosely on the Vertigo comic, Lucifer is the story of the original fallen angel. Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) abandoned his throne. He then retired to Los Angeles, where he has teamed up with LAPD detective Chloe Decker to take down criminals. The show was abruptly canceled by Fox after its third season but was saved by Netflix last June.

Season 5 will be divided into two parts with Golden Globe nominee Dennis Haysbert (24, Major League) signing on for role of God. This upcoming season will also mark the reunion of 24 alums Haysbert and D.B. Woodside, who is playing the role of God’s favorite son and Lucifer’s angelic brother Amenadiel.
