Deadline reports that Zack Snyder’s 2017 movie Justice League will finally see the light of day on HBOMAX. The outlet said that Snyder made the announcement today during a Watch Party for his 2013 Superman movie Man of Steel on Vero.

The movie centers around the team between DC superheros Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg was long hoped to be The Avengers apex for Warner Bros. DC, but the pic was a letdown, both from a financial standpoint (Justice League made less than Snyder’s Batman v. Superman, $657.9M WW to BvS’ $873.6M WW) and in regard to its fanboy reception. Snyder had to step away from filming Justice League due to a personal tragedy and Joss Whedon stepped in to do reshoots and handle post.

Deadline also brings word that Snyder’s cut was darker and better before he left the project. Fans, as well as Justice League stars Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot began calling for #ReleaseTheSnyderCut last November. And in recent days with Aquaman himself Jason Mamoa yelling online “Release the Fucking Snyder Cut”.

From what the outfit said that the director is polishing the print, hence the 2021 release date on the new Warner Bros. streaming service, which debuts next week May 27. Warner Bros. has Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 1984 scheduled for theatrical release on August 14. Warner Bros.’ DC movies outside of Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy have grossed more than $5.1 billion worldwide from BvS, Justice League, Man of Steel, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey.

My first initial thoughts is this I’m excited that we are finally getting a Snyder’s Cut and that I’m excited to see it for free on HBOMAX since I have Direct TV. But on the other hand there are handful of other people who doesn’t have Direct TV and had to pay for their streaming service just to watch Snyder’s version of Justice League and would just sign up for their streaming service just to watch the film and then cancel later on.

I know that they have a hand slate of original TV series that the streaming service is working on like The Green Lantern Series, Justice League Dark, and other original properties. But it’s going to be awhile until we see those original series and even though the Snyder Cut is being released in 2021 there might not be any original content until 2022 considering we have the COVID-19 Pandemic. Another thing that I want to mention I would think it would be more beneficial to sell it on blu ray and DVD then to have it on a streaming service that people may or may not keep. But this is just me speculating and I could be wrong.

But comment below and tell me what you think of this news.
