Ewan McGregor Talks About The Obi Wan Disney+ Show Being Delayed

As everyone knows the other day I reported that the Obi Wan Disney+ show is delayed, because Kathleen Kennedy was unhappy with the script. The crew at Pinewood Studios in London was sent home and reports projected production kicking off this summer.

Among all of the reports about the show being delayed indefinitely Obi Wan Kenobi himself (Ewan McGregor) told comic book.com

“It just slipped to next year, that’s all.The scripts are really good. I think that so now that Episode IX came out and everyone at Lucasfilm’s got more time to look to spend on the writing, they felt like they wanted more time to write the episodes. I read about 80-90 percent of what they’ve written so far and it’s really, really good. And instead of shooting this August, they just want to start shooting in January, that’s all. It’s nothing more dramatic than that. It often happens in projects, they just wanted to push it to next year.”

Something to me doesn’t seem right with his statement, it the script for the show is really good then why is Kathleen Kennedy delaying the show for rewrites? I get that in Hollywood these things happen and the studio wants to make sure that they have their ducks in a row so that they know that they have something special. But they were about to break ground with this show and all of a sudden now they have issues with the script? It seems like that there is something more to the story than what they are telling us.
