CW Revamps The Lost Boys Pilot

Just when you thought that the vampire Movie and TV craze was over with CW announced today that they green lit a new version of the TV pilot for The Lost Boys. From Heather Mitchell and Rob Thomas. Marcos Siega (THE VAMPIRE DIARIES) will direct the new pilot, taking over for TWILIGHT director Catherine Hardwicke who helmed last season’s pilot.

Thomas will co-write a reworked version of Mitchell’s pilot script from last season. But that’s not all, it also looks like this new pilot will sport a fresh cast as the contracts for the two cast members from the original pilot, Medalion Rahimi and Dakota Shapiro, have expired.

Who should be cast in this new version?, We know that original LOST BOYS actor Corey Feldman thinks its time that the powers that be behind the scenes at the CW try their hand at bringing back The Frog Brothers.

This TV reboot’s synopsis is very reminiscent of the original film:

In The Lost Boys reboot, after the sudden death of their father, brothers Michael and Sam Emerson move to Santa Carla with their mother, Lucy, who hopes to start anew in the town where she grew up. But the brothers soon find themselves being drawn deeper and deeper into the seductive world of Santa Carla’s eternally beautiful and youthful undead.

Joel Schumacher directed the original THE LOST BOYS movie from a screenplay written by Janice Fischer, James Jeremias, and Jeffrey Boam. Harvey Bernhard produced the classic flick which starred Corey Haim, Jami Gertz, Edward Herrmann, Barnard Hughes, Jason Patric, Kiefer Sutherland, Corey Feldman, and Dianne Wiest. Warner Bros. unleashed the teenage monster movie into a theater near you back on July 31, 1987.
