It’s time to gather around the campfire and tell some spooky stories, because Nickelodeon has renewed their Are You Afraid of the Dark revival series for a second season! That’s, all we really know at this time. And that and ACE Entertainment (TO ALL THE BOYS I’VE LOVED BEFORE) will return to produce, with Matt Kaplan and Spencer Berman serving as executive producers.
Nickelodeon’s ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK revival series aired in three parts throughout October and was a smashing success with all three parts ranked as the most co-viewed show on broadcast and TV each week. I watched them three parts and had a blast!
Written by Ben David Grabinski (SKIPTRACE) and directed by Dean Israelite (POWER RANGERS, PROJECT ALMANAC), the three-episode hourlong limited series introduced an entirely new Midnight Society group of kids who tell
a terrifying tale about the Carnival of Doom and its evil ringmaster Mr. Top Hat, only to witness the shocking story come frightfully to life.
The cast included Sam Ashe Arnold (BEST.WORST.WEEKEND.EVER.), Miya Cech (RIM OF THE WORLD), Tamara Smart (ARTEMIS FOWL), Lyliana Wray (TOP GUN: MAVERICK), Rafael Casal (BLINDSPOTTING), and IT and GOOSEBUMPS 2: HAUNTED HALLOWEEN star Jeremy Taylor.
The limited series was produced by ACE Entertainment (TO ALL THE BOYS I’VE LOVED BEFORE) with ACE founder Matt Kaplan and Spencer Berman serving as executive producers. Grabinski and Israelite also executive produced.
